Every once in a while, I find a song that I listen to on repeat for days. I try to listen to another song or something that someone recommends and every single time, I end up listening to my obsession song. Just last week, NOTD and Bea Miller dropped “I Wanna Know,” a track with catchy beat, shower-singable vocals and relatable lyrics. “I Wanna Know” is definitely my obsession track for March and maybe longer.
Iris – The Goo Goo Dolls

This song came up on my playlist the other day and I just couldn’t help how no matter what year it is, this song will always be one you don’t skip over!
Wild Love – James Bay

In early February, James Bay made his triumphant return to the music scene with “Wild Love,” the first single off his forthcoming sophomore album (set to be released later this year). “Wild Love” talks about his desire to be in a care-free relationship. The song introduced us to his fresh and matured sound, which honestly, only makes me more excited to hear more new music from him.
Perfect Place – Lorde

I chose “Perfect Places” by Lorde because I FINALLY get to see her perform live this month. I’m probably most excited to hear this song live. It’s hard to choose a favorite Lorde song, because she’s just so good, but as soon as I listened to Melodrama for the first time, this instantly became my favorite. It makes me think of summer and all the times I’ve gone to Chicago. It’s just so dang GOOD.
Angeline – Chase Atlantic

I was so impressed with Chase Atlantic’s set opening for Lights a few weeks ago. These dudes write, record, mix, and produce all their own stuff. “Angeline” stands out because it’s a slower tempo song off their R&B/pop-rock heavy self-titled. It’s a testament to Chase Atlantic’s lyrical and instrumental talent.
Good Now – Phangs

It’s such a feel good song that automatically uplifts me. I had it on repeat for an entire week since it came out. With winter being over, and March starting and spring on its way, it’s just a song timed so perfectly for happier and warmer times ahead.
Judy French – White Reaper

I recently found out about White Reaper and immediately became OBSESSED. This song has been on the every playlist I’ve made so far this year. They bring such a vibey sound to the table. This is gonna be a big year for them so I would keep an eye on White Reaper!
Wanna Come Down – Coastal Clouds

I discovered Coastal Clouds from an indie playlist of emerging artists earlier this month, and I wish I’d known about him sooner! This song is so mellow and it’s great to listen to while I’m driving or walking to class to just feel good. I love all the other songs on his EP, Nothing to Hide, too. While I’m stuck in the cold weather slump, these smooth surf rock vibes make me think about summer.

Every introvert can relate to this song when they try to go out with friends. Such a bop and the music video is stellar!
Make Me Feel – Janelle Monáe

After appearing in several high profile movies such as Hidden Figures and Moonlight, Janelle Monáe has finally made her musical comeback. While her album, entitled Dirty Computer, doesn’t come out till late next month, she graced us with two singles, “Django Jane” and “Make Me Feel” ahead of it’s release. While they are both fantastic tracks, “Make Me Feel” has stuck with me in a big way ever since it’s release, and has become without a doubt one of my favorite tracks of the year. It’s bouncy, rubbery beat infuses Monáe’s uniquely funky style of R&B with an undeniably sweet and seductive pop sensibility. The bridge is pure magic as well, as rapid fire percussion joins the mix, adding a whole new layer to the already dynamic track. Basically, I couldn’t be more excited that Janelle Monáe is back.
Pink Lemonade – James Bay

This sound has the perfect balance of relaxing and jamming out too. The track is just perfection.
In Bloom – Neck Deep

Warm weather and festival season is nearly upon us! I discovered Neck Deep at Warped so their music always gets me in the spirit and this track is perfect for the upcoming season!
Team – Lorde

I’ve fallen into a deep deep nostalgia hole recently, and Lorde’s debut album “Pure Heroine” is definitely one of my favorites. That album came out my first year of college and got me through transferring, learning how to me on my own for the first time and just opened the door to what would lead to some of the best music of my college years.
Drinking About You – Jake Miller

It’s a new song so it’s fresh. The beat and lyrics are fun and I love that I can dance to it and sing to it in the shower or in the car. It’s super relatable and I love relatable songs.
Tsunami – Told Slant

Though the sound may not be for everybody, Told Slant’s “Tsunami” stands out for being so honest and pure.
The Other Side – Hugh Jackman + Zac Efron

Well the Oscars happened and I remembered that The Greatest Showman existed. And if Pasek and Paul knew I needed anything in my life it was another song where Zac Efron sang about how he doesn’t want to do something before finally doing it.
