Founder, Editor In Chief - Addie Whelan (she/her)

One of four founders of Beyond The Stage, Addie Whelan is the Editor In Chief of Beyond The Stage Magazine. With a passion for social media and digital trends, Addie can often be found on Reddit looking for the latest music and baking dark chocolate olive oil cookies.

Business Director - Gina Scarpino (she/her)

Gina Scarpino is Beyond The Stage's Business Director and has been with the publication since 2017. She graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Music Business Management and minor in Journalism. Since a young age, she has always had a soft spot for music journalism and gassing up her favorite artists on Twitter. When her head isn't buried in Photoshop, you can find her reading books about contract theory, watching "Almost Famous" for the 5000th time, or trying to educate others on ocean conservation.

 Managing Editor - Lauren Klonowski (she/her)

Lauren Klonowski is the Managing Editor for Beyond the Stage Magazine and has been with the publication since its inception. In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, binge-watching The Office for the billionth time and going to concerts.

Deputy Editor - Joe Hernandez (he/him)

Joe Hernandez is Beyond the Stage's Bay Area based Deputy Editor, and has been with the publication since 2018. He graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and found a passion for photography and music journalism while working in college radio. When he’s not at a show Joe’s other hobbies include video games and complaining about his favorite football team.


Photo Editor - Chelsea Gresh (she/her)

Chelsea Gresh is the Photo Editor for Beyond The Stage Magazine. She has been taking photographs for over ten years now. Aside from music, she is very interested in skateboarding and researching the newest and coolest shoes on the market.


Copy Editor - Abhi Bararia (he/him)

Abhi Bararia is a Copy Editor at Beyond The Stage Magazine. His taste in music spans far and wide, with some of his favorite artists including Glass Animals, Mac Miller, The Eagles, Cape Francis and Kendrick Lamar. If not writing and researching about the latest music, Abhi can be found on the hunt for the next sneaker to add to his ever-growing collection or finding new recipes to fuel his passion for cooking.

Project Manager - Marissa Sandoval (she/her)

Marissa Sandoval is a Project Manager at Beyond The Stage Magazine based in Los Angeles, CA. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Marissa is currently a Juris Doctorate Candidate at Southwestern Law School. She has had a passion for music and theatre since she was young and hopes to work as an entertainment lawyer after passing the bar. When she is not studying, she’s often found at Disneyland or searching for the next big Broadway hit. 

Intern Coordinator, Digital Project Manager - Amanda Restaino (she/her)

Amanda Restaino is a Digital Project Manager and Intern Coordinator for Beyond the Stage. A recent graduate from the University of Tennessee, she has a Bachelor of Science in Communication. After college, she returned home to Tampa, Florida to receive a Master of Arts in Professional Communication at the University of Tampa. She loves traveling and going to concerts around the world. She also enjoys watching Love Island and baking cookies with her mom. Her favorite artists at the moment are Harry Styles, Fleetwood Mac, Ariana Grande, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Senior Contributor - Alyssa Buzzello (she/her)

Alyssa Buzzello is a Senior Contributing Photographer and has been with the publication since 2015. Alyssa recently graduated from the University of California with a Bachelors in Music Industry and is currently working in live event operations. Her favorite bands include Bleachers, Fall Out Boy, The 1975, The Maine, and Joyce Manor.


Contributing Writer - Abby Jacobson (she/her)

Abby Jacobson is a summer intern who loves everything about live music. When she's not at concerts, she can be found playing ultimate frisbee, checking out local breweries, and looking for new music. Some of her favorite bands include Misterwives, COIN, The Frights, and Saint Motel.


Contributing Photographer - Ari Battis (they/them)

Audrey/Ari is a midwest-based photographer currently located in St. Louis, soon to be Chicago by summer 2022. They graduated with their BA in Communications from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May of 2021, and now work in social media marketing by day, and live music by night. Cat dad and self-proclaimed emo revivalist, they can be found listening to artist across a variety of genres from the likes of MCR, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping with Sirens, Korn, Chelsea Grin, Conan Gray, Deftones, and Bastille, to name just a few.

Contributing Photographer - Ben Pagani (they/them)

Ben Pagani is a Contributing Writer for Beyond The STage has spent the last few years studying journalism at Kent State University in Ohio. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Ben has always had an eye on the local music scene wherever they may be. They can be found at the nearest record store picking up the newest albums or laying on a blanket in a field writing poetry.

Contributing Photographer - Blake Charles (he/his)

Blake Charles is a contributing photographer/writer for Beyond the Stage and has been with the publication since 2017. He is currently a student at The University of Oregon where he is studying journalism and sociology. When he's not photographing or writing about music, he's likely watching tennis or messing around with photos in Photoshop. Some of his favorite artists include Allie X, The Midnight, Bleachers, and Taylor Swift.

Brooke Madigan

Contributing Writer - Brooke Madigan (she/her)

Brooke Madigan is a Contributing Writer at Beyond The Stage Magazine. When she isn't shopping for shoes or cooking up something in the kitchen, Brooke can be found at Syracuse University where she is a junior studying public relations and sociology. She aspires to have a career in the music industry and is eager to welcome any new opportunity that comes her way.

Contributing Writer - Connor Barnes (he/his)

Connor is a Contributing Writer with Beyond The Stage and currently enrolled at New York University. When not working towards his English degree, Connor likes to unwind with his friends and experience the NYC nightlife. During his nights at home, Connor can be found re-watching "Golden Girls" or "Sex and the City", or jamming to his favorite artists who include Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, and Kim Petras.


Contributing Photographer - Dana Jacobs (she/her)

Dana Jacobs has been a contributing photographer for Beyond the Stage since 2019. As a current physical therapy graduate student, photography is her preferred way to maintain sanity between classes and exams. When she's not studying or shooting a live show, Dana can be found listening to true crime podcasts and petting the nearest pup. Her favorite artists include Harry Styles, Bastille, and Dua Lipa.

Contributing Writer - Ivy Sandoval (she/her)

Ivy Sandoval is one of Beyond the Stage's Contributing Writers and has been with the publication since April 2019. She graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors in Journalism. When she isn't busy writing, you can find her at concerts, traveling or just watching Netflix. Her favorite bands and artists include Shawn Mendes, Harry Styles, Jeremy Zucker and Why Don't We.

Contributing Writer - Kira Mautone (she/her)

Kira Mautone is a Contributing Writer that just graduated from Carthage College and is originally from the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. She has a great love of all genres, but particularly rap, RnB, and alternative/rock. When she isn't blasting Drake, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Iann Dior, or Empire of the Sun at concert speaker level, you can find her reading, writing, or working out.

Contributing Photographer - Maggie Montgomery (she/her)

Maggie Montgomery is a Creative Entertainment Industries student at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Aside from her passion for concert photography, Maggie also works in several realms of creativity, including social media, branding, and fine art.

Contributing Photographer - Marlowe Teichman (she/her)

Marlowe Teichman is a photographer for Beyond The Stage Magazine and has been working with the publication since 2019. When not photographing a show, you can find her traveling, playing her ukulele, and keeping up with the latest trends and headlines in music. Some of her favorite artists include Billie Eilish, BENEE, Alina Baraz, Mac Miller, jxdn, and EARTHGANG.


Contributing Writer - Merritt McLaughlin (she/hers)

A writer by day and ‪self-appointed Netflix connoisseur by night, Merritt is rarely seen without an iced coffee in hand. When she’s not reading, writing or researching, she’s on eight wheels on the roller derby track.

Contributing Photographer - Quinn Beaupre (he/his)

A Milwaukee native, Quinn Beaupré graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019 with degrees in Art and German. He enjoys donuts, playing the mandolin, and temperatures above freezing. Some of his favorite artists include Aminé, Trampled by Turtles, and Bon Iver.

Contributing Writer - Paulina Levitan (she/her)

Paulina is a Contributing Writer for BTS, born and raised in New York. Currently, she studies music business and songwriting at The University of Miami. She enjoys all styles of music, ranging from pop to alternative to rap and so on. While music and writing are her two biggest passions, she also has a love for fashion, photography and travel.


Contributing Writer - Samantha Aneed (she/her)

Samantha Aneed is a contributing writer for Beyond the Stage Magazine. She has been with the team since 2016. She is currently in school studying business. She is working as a sales assistant at a hotel and banquet center in Michigan. She loves her job and loves writing for BTS. In her free time, you’ll find her at concerts, exploring dive bars and adventuring to the coolest places in Michigan. Samantha also is an avid social media correspondent and you’ll often find her on Twitter following all the latest trends in music. Some of her favorite artists and bands include, Bryce Vine, Harry Styles, LANY and lovelytheband, & Christian French.
