Chelsea Cutler Shares Music Video for “Sad Tonight”
Yesterday, rising pop-star Chelsea Cutler released the music video for her new single “Sad Tonight” with fans. The single is pulled from her debut album, How To Be Human, which was also released yesterday via Republic Records.
The music video shows Cutler, sitting alone in an empty room. Throughout the video, it shows her spending her night alone and all the thing she does to pass the time. The music video is conceptually stunning – it chronicles the necessity to feel sadness after going through a heartbreak and how it can be difficult to find the motivation to go out and do other things when you are filled with so much sadness. “Sad Tonight” was directed by Drew Kirsch (best known for his work with Taylor Swift, Lennon Stella, Quinn XCII, and Wallows to name a few), and it captures the essence and message the song delivers perfectly.
In the days leading up to the release of “Sad Tonight” and How To Be Human, Cutler teased the song by giving fans a phone number to call where they could listen to a snippet of the song, which also gave them the opportunity to leave voicemails for Cutler to listen to. The fan response was electric – there was a huge outpouring of love and excitement for the song and Cutler’s album, which has only continued after the album’s release.
