Jeffrey James Drops New Single “Like Love” Along With Remix

Pop singer Jeffrey James dropped a new summer single “Like Love” last week and remix working with producer Future Trips.

The new single dives into a relationship ending suddenly and is the perfect song to blast in your car with your windows down. “Like Love” is the second single he’s released this year following his recent, captivating love song,  “Aftermath” and 5-track EP East London that dropped this past February.

The Songland contestant describes the feeling of a relationship ending with one partner being blindsided by the breakup getting inspiration from

the pop singer’s own love life, being broken up with via DM, as he sings “I thought that what we had was different // But then you turn around and say that isn’t now.” Later in the song James’s pain turns to anger as he sings “It’s all I ever needed // But now I don’t believe it // I’m losing us // So I don’t even like love.” Along with the remix, James released a stripped-down version that beautifully captures the feeling of heartache. The Nashville-based singer/songwriter explained during the writing process he knew he wanted to release two versions of the track, of “a more stripped down version for anyone who wants to just be sad and take the time with their feelings. And then an uptempo version, for anyone who can relate, but wants to dance it all away.”

With a resemblance of James Arthur, Sam Smith and Lewis Capaldi in his vocals and music production James is undeniably one of music’s rising stars.
