Calling all of those dealing with a heartbreak- sad alex and gnash have a song for you. The singers collaborated to bring us a new anthem about overcoming heartbreak with their song “i’m glad that you found someone.” Let it be known that this is not a song that will put you deep into your depressive episode, but it instead be the guide towards turning this pain into resentment.

The song seems like a clear stream of consciousness from someone who understands what it is like to get hurt. The artists understand the frustration and anger associated with a break up. Instead of shaming this mindset they turned it into an anthem everyone can get behind. To put it bluntly, one of the most prevalent lyrics in the song is “Fuck you and your girlfriend too.” This track is perfect for those of us who need an extra boost of anger to cope with a nasty breakup.

The collaboration between sad alex and gnash was manifested through a shared personal experience. Marrying the two singers’ emotional expertise gives this song a clear cathartic element. The singers each have a signature sound that bounces and flows so beautifully together in this track.
