SONG REVIEW: “Writings on the Wall” by Sam Smith
The 23 year old British singer released his song for the new James Bond film SPECTRE. The song, entitled “Writings on the Wall” is one of Sam Smith’s best recorded vocals yet.
The track is very classical and Smith’s vocals are intense, but also emotional. The song is slow and the orchestra on the track adds that classical edge. Lyric wise, the song seems to be about love and staying with that special someone.
You might remember that Adele had a big hit with “Skyfall” for the last James Bond film 007. No one thought that song could be topped since it even won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2013, but we may be wrong. It seems that “Writings on the Wall” will probably be the song everyone might be talking about now. Maybe Smith will be adding an Oscar to his Grammy Awards?
In the end, this song is both intense and different, but in a good way! Don’t have to be James Bond fan to like this song.
