One Month After Lollapalooza… What Music Festival Will YOU Be Attending Next?

One month ago, Lollapalooza took its place as the largest music festival since before the pandemic and it truly helped kick off a crazy festival season. There were an estimated 100,000 in attendance for the 4-day music festival held at Chicago’s Grant Park.

Thursday, was a day of rockin’ performances from All Time Low, Jimmy Eat World, Playboi Carti, and more.

The night ended with Miley Cyrus taking the T-Mobile stage joined by guests G Herbo, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Billy Idol, The Kid LAROI, and Chicago’s own, Benny the Bull from the Chicago Bulls. Miley’s set was packed with her classic hits such as “Wrecking Ball” and “7 Things” to hits off of her latest album, Plastic Hearts. Miley jumpstarted the weekend with an electrifying presence.

Friday, the festival was noticeably more packed as fans ran through the festival grounds from performance to performance. Festival-goers also found their way to some fun happening around the park such as the Bud Light Seltzer Sessions where a stage hosted multiple artists on the Lollapalooza roster, as well as surpise guests, for an intimate performance paired with plenty of hard seltzers.

Fast-forwarding through the day of performances by Jack Harlow, GIVĒON, Lauv, and more, Tyler, the Creator faced the crowd singing and dancing through a journey of his different eras of music. He, quite literally, rocked the boat as he sailed onstage in a prop boat to close out the second night.

Saturday, fans seemed to be comfortable and settled in with the overwhelming return of live music and festival culture. It was a hot day that started off with an early-morning performance by jxdn hosted by 1035 KISS FM at Aurelios Pizza. And not only was the acoustic set a great way to kick off the morning, but so was the Chicago-style pies.

A monster list of headlining acts took the stages across the grounds and they all brought energy-packed performances. One after another, Limp Bizkit, Megan Thee Stallion, Journey, and Post Malone all stunned the Lollapalooza audiences and lit up Chicago with their sets.

The final day of Lollapalooza was a quiet morning as fans prepared to end their festival weekend with roaring performances by the iconic Dave Grohl-founded rock band, Foo Fighters and last-minute headliner taking over DaBaby’s set, Young Thug.

It’s safe to say the 2021 Lollapalooza event was an amazing success filled with star-studded performances, tasty Chicago-style food, insane aftershows, and SAFE comradery amongst festival-goers.
