Kim Petras Attends Party of a Lifetime in Chic New Music Video
Kim Petras has been the name on everyone’s lips as of late. The singer recently appeared at the MTV’s Video Music Awards, pulling up to the event in a pink Mini Cooper with her celebrity bestie (and idol) Paris Hilton. There, for the pre-show, she performed her new pop single “Future Starts Now.” The song is the first single to be released from her upcoming debut album. It encourages listeners to live in the moment, not dwell on the past and “worry ’bout [their problems] in the morning.”
The next night, Petras attended fashion’s biggest event of the year, the Met Gala. She walked the red carpet dressed in Collina Strada. Adorned with a now-iconic horse head bustier, the dress has since gone viral and received recognition at this year’s Emmys’ award show where it appeared in one of the sketches performed throughout the night.
Petras continues to build her momentum with the release of her new music video for “Future Starts Now.” Taking inspiration from her trips to Paris as a child and 80’s club tracks, “Future Starts Now” represents a new era for the artist in terms of her music and image. The music video deftly captures the song’s spirit and this new era for Petras, portraying her as a chicly dressed party-goer at the party of a lifetime (literally) in the Eiffel Tower. As the party rages inside, stormy waters rage outside in an apocalyptic Paris. The music video serves as a reminder that although the world has changed (and continues to change), there are still opportunities to capture euphoria.
