MUSIC NEWS: Is There A New Adele Album Coming Out?

Recently, Adele has slowly been revealing information about what may or may not be the follow-up to her hugely successful album 21. This marketing campaign has been cryptic to say the least and leaves a lot open to speculation.

Before we start speculating, here is a timeline of what we have seen so far:

On May 4, 2014, Adele tweeted the following: “Bye bye 25…see you again later in the year X”. Check it out here: https://twitter.com/Adele/status/463067207384461312 No other information was given and Sony’s lips have been sealed shut even since then. No album was released in 2014.

On January 21, 2015, she tweeted support for singer/songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr.’s debut single, “How Could You Babe”, which immediately saw a surge in popularity and sales. https://twitter.com/Adele/status/557987693599395841

On September 24, 2015, Sia released the lead single “Alive” from her upcoming album This Is Acting. The song was co-written by Sia, Adele and Jesso Jr and was supposedly written for Adele’s upcoming album, confirming that writing sessions have taken place for this album but with no other confirmations about the album.

https://twitter.com/Adele/status/656787881349009408/photo/1 – This morning (October 21) she wrote a long letter explaining a few realizations she had come to over the past few years, saying “sorry it took so long, but, you know, life happened.”

Is she planning on surprise releasing her album on Friday? Will she release the album on November 13 to compete with new albums from Justin Bieber and One Direction? Is her new album even called 25? One can only speculate. Only her tight inner circle knows exactly what is going on.
The anticipation is at critical mass. Only time will tell what will happen next.
