7 Iconic Songs From 2007

I think we can all agree that the early 2000s was a sensational era for music, right? We have all had the guilty pleasure of listening to the cheesy love songs from Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Gwen Stefani at some point in our life. Here are 7 iconic songs from 2007 that BTS can’t forget about.

1. “Barely Breathing”- Duncan Sheik

Some may call Duncan Sheik a “one-hit-wonder,” but if “Barely Breathing,” was the only song he ever produced, it wouldn’t matter. He made the impact of 100 songs with this masterpiece.

2. “Love Song”- Sara Bareilles

In the midst of the early Taylor Swift girl-power era, Sara Bareilles released one of the most empowering songs of the decade. “Love Song,” is ironically not about love at all.

3. “Don’t Stop The Music”- Rihanna

A rising star in 2007, Rihanna only had 3 released albums so far. Each of these albums went platinum and with songs like “Don’t Stop The Music,” we understand why.

4. “Umbrella”- Rihanna ft. JAY-Z

We couldn’t help but feature Rihanna on the list twice. This song is perfect for a rainy day – or any day, really.

5. “Beautiful Girls”- Sean Kingston

Sean Kingston was only 17 years old when he released the hit song, “Beautiful Girls.” He probably had no idea people would still be just as crazy about it 15 years later.

6. “Gimme More”- Britney Spears

How could we not accredit Britney Spears? The pop-star single-handedly sculpted the 2000s music industry and did it with courageousness. The iconic line, “It’s Britney, B*tch,” will forever be a part of her legacy.

7. “Pocketful of Sunshine”

Coming across this song for the first time was pure serendipity. If we had to choose one song to perfectly represent the early 2000s, it would be “Pocketful of Sunshine.”

There are sooo many more songs that we can mention, but that would take all day – maybe even all week. Feel free to add some of your own honorable mentions in the comments, on Facebook or Twitter
