New Music Friday: September 16, 2022

You already know what day it is. Happy New Music Friday! Artists spanning genres brought their A-game this week with new releases that are destined to become hits. Our favorites from this week come from not only some popular names like Charlie Puth, FLETCHER and Kiana Ledé, but also some artists who are on the come up.

Check out our New Music Friday guide below.

 “Serial Heartbreaker” – FLETCHER

We truly have no words to properly exemplify how perfect this song is. The utterly pop beat that gives off The Weeknd meets Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber vibes mixed with the effortless blend of high and low notes creates a song that is a gift from heaven. BRB gotta go listen to it again.

“Back To You” – THE DRIVER ERA, Ross Lynch, Rocky

Sexy guitar strums with heavy vocals and drum led beats flood your ears and transport you to another place. This song is pure evidence as to why THE DRIVER ERA has been taking the music and TikTok (iykyk) worlds by storm. Prepare for an out-of-body experience.

“fmk (with blackbear)” – GAYLE

What starts off as a slow and simple song with gentle vocals and guitar turns into the passionate, emotional pop-rock sound we are used to from GAYLE. blackbear adds more texture to the single with his rap-like verse and harmonies. We know we will be hearing this on the radio.

“Irresponsible” – Kiana Ledé

Kiana Ledé strikes again! Looking for a song to maybe cry to post-breakup? Here you go. We can guarantee the lyrics will make you an emotional wreck, but you won’t be able to stop yourself from listening again and again and again.

“Bloodline” – Oliver Malcolm

Malcolm reflects on how our heritage is carried forward in our DNA and souls with this addictive, eclectic song that doesn’t just make you make think, but move. If you’re looking for some poetic lyricism, look no further!

“See You In My Dreams” – Daya

Picture this: you’re sticking your head out the sunroof of your Uber’s car on your way to the first stop of your night out. What song do you hear? We hear this techno-pop bop that feels like a party in the clouds, and it’s putting us in the best mood.

“I Don’t Think That I Like Her” – Charlie Puth

Did you know that all girls want to do is break Charlie Puth’s heart? Well now you do. In this song you’ll find the silky falsettos he’s become known for, but with a Latin-inspired beat and pop-rock chorus twist.

“JUST STAY FOR ONCE” – Zachary Knowles

Diving into self-doubt and how these feelings can transpire into insecurities that affect romantic relationships, Knowles imitates life in this single. The deep context met with the upbeat, fast paced melodies simply creates a moment.

“DIE4MYBITCH” – PLVTINUM

This sinister single explores the line between possessive behavior being a form of destruction or elevated passion. PLVTINUM shows how truly self-aware he is in this sonically layered song.

“Backseat (All I Got)” – Sam MacPherson

Have you ever been haunted by a fading relationship? If so, this song is for you! Delving into staying in a relationship for the need of wanting to be wanted, this track is as honest and relatable as it gets.
