Sturgill Simpson Cover of “In Bloom” by Nirvana

Sturgill Simpon’s cover of Nirvana’s 1992 song “In Bloom” now has an official music video, which can be viewed at strugillsimpson.com. The video was directed by Matt Mahurin, who in the past has worked with Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, and many other legends.

“In Bloom” is the second release from A Sailor’s Guide To Earth, Simpson’s upcoming album. It is currently available for pre-order and will be released April 15th on Atlantic Records.

Simpson’s talent has already garnered positive reviews from Esquire, Rolling Stone, and USA Today and more. The album’s nine tracks piece together to form a cohesive letter written to Simpson’s first child. Simpson also produced A Sailor’s Guide To Earth himself. It was recorded mostly at The Butcher Shoppe in Nashville along with Grammy Award-winning engineer David Ferguson and assistant engineer Sean Sullivan.

Simpson’s 2014 release Metamodern Sounds In Country Music was highly praised and was nominated for Best Americana Album at the Grammy Awards. A Sailor’s Guide To Earth marks Simpson’s third full-length album release.

Sturgill Simpson’s 2016 tour begins next month and tickets are limited. Check out his tour dates and the “In Bloom” music video below.
