Little Mix Teases Girl-Empowering “Glory Days”

The dynamic four-piece is set to release its fourth studio album, Glory Days, on November 18, 2016. The girls have given the world a preview with “Shout Out to My Ex” and “You Gotta Not” and we just can’t get enough of them.

The relief of moving forward after a broken heart is an inexplainable feeling. Whether you’ve experienced heartbreak before, are currently in the mending process, or just want an empowering anthem, Little Mix’s first single off the new record is perfect. “Shout Out to My Ex” is an upbeat, dance track with powerful vocals to prove just how talented these women are (the four-part harmony in the bridge is UNREAL). The song and its accompanying video exemplify Little Mix’s entire message: it’s less about “F*** YOU” and more about “Hey look at me! I’m doing great and I’m stronger without you!” It’s feeling grateful for the lessons learned and focusing on the positives from an unfortunate situation. As Perrie Edwards notions, “We wanted to write a song that can relate to everyone in the world – it’s a happy heartbreak song.” So, if you’re in need of a little pick-me-up in the love realm, take a listen.

The second single released today (October 28th) is nothing short of melodic genius. The use of piano and horns accompanied with four-part harmonies in the chorus (and that key change in the second verse!) make it hard not to tap your foot throughout this song. It’s all about looking for the person you really deserve aka someone who will treat you right. As the girls sing, “I don’t get paid to babysit no one – I’m only looking for the one to love.” You’re darn right, Little Mix. If these first two singles off the record are any indication of what to expect, we could not possibly be more excited. Our anticipation for the the girl-empowering Glory Days is only growing stronger with each new release.
