How We Survived Camila Cabello’s Departure from Fifth Harmony
By now, we are sure that you’ve all heard the news. Camila Cabello is no longer a part of Fifth Harmony. During the late hours of the night, the remaining girls in Fifth Harmony announced Camila’s departure due to the desire to pursue solo endeavors. Since then, there’s been drama, statements being released and we just aren’t sure who to believe or what to think. We miss Camila, most definitely. She completed Fifth Harmony in ways that won’t be complete without her. But of course, everyone saw this coming, as Camilla has released several duets over the year, the most recent being with Machine Gun Kelly.
Although we know that Camila will continue on to be successful, it still shook us to the core. How were we ever supposed to get passed such a sudden departure? Will the girls be able to move on? Will they change their name to ‘Fourth Harmony?’. What will Camila’s new music sound like? These are all legitimate questions that we all want answers to. Perhaps, it’s too early to answer these questions but we’re pretty sure we’re close to surviving the departure. Right? We’ve battled with our five stages of grief, and laughed and cried over memories that included Camila. We’ve done it all and we still miss her but we think that we’ll be okay. We believe that we will move on.
After all, 2017 is only a few days away. It’s a new beginning. Camila will be seeking a new adventure and we’ll forget all about the emotions that were involved due to her departure. In fact, we’ll be excited and happy for her. We won’t be able to wait until we get our hands on her new music. The new beginning is exciting but for now, we focus on the hard week it has been for all of us. We focus on how we have survived thus far since the night we heard. Here’s how we’ve survived after hearing the news and how we know it’s all going to be okay.
1. Camila’s Been Successfu all on Her Own
In November of 2015, Camilla released a duet with Shawn Mendes entitled “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, which included her first songwriting credit. The song charted at No.20 in the U.S and No.18 in Canada, while also being certified platinum. In October of 2016, Camila did a joint single with Machine Gun Kelly called “Bad Things”. The song has reached a peak of No.10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Camilla has also been included in TIME’s “The 25 Most influential Teens of 2016” list.
2. The Rest of Fifth Harmony will Carry On
We’ve heard both sides and both sides are believable. We don’t doubt that people have been hurt in all of this. But if we know anything about the girls in Fifth Harmony, we know they are strong, courageous and can conquer anything. They reached 3rd place on the X. Factor, they’ve endured hurt and heartbreak together, and they’ve created music together. We know for a fact they can conquer this, even if it does hurt right now. 2017 will be the year they come back and are stronger than ever.

3. Camila’s Vocals are on Point
Let’s face it, Camila’s ability to sing gives us all hope. We’re able to move on and survive this departure because we know that Camila will still be doing what she loves, and we’ll be able to hear more of her amazing vocals.

4. We Get to See Camila’s Talent on Full Display
Surely, Camila has more talents than we can probably count on our fingers. If she can be successful all on her own while being in Fifth Harmony, we can’t wait to see what she can do as a solo artist.

5. The Internet and it’s Reactions
Ever since the news came out, the internet lost its mind, and some of the reactions are pretty hilarious and really emotional.
