Woman Crush Wednesday // Sam DeRosa

Sam DeRosa is your new pop obsession. How do you know? Well, all you gotta do is listen to her upbeat pop tune “Thrills” and you’ll be hooked. She’s a renowned pop princess who’s ready to take the world by storm with her catchy music and distinctive lyrics, making her a true artist with great potential. Her signature sound can be compared to the likes of Katy Perry and Selena Gomez. But overall, DeRosa is more than a signature sound.

Her music has her personality written all over it, with a simple message of being yourself because there’s always room for that. “My music is an emotional head bop because the lyrics are really honest but I kind of disguise how emotionally crazy I am with these poppy, head bopping, pop grooves. That’s the fun of it,” she said in an interview with Tigerbeat. And it’s certainly true. She turns something vulnerable and emotional into a fun, dance groove but also something her audience can relate to.

She’s auditioned for shows like American Idol and ‘The Voice,’ and maybe she didn’t take the competition as a reigning champion but she’s not one to let that stop her. The pop princess is ready to tell her own story, and she’s begun to do that with her single “Thrills”. “That song for me is just about my struggle of going through life in that way where I’ve been so concerned about getting there and what people think and making it all look so cool. I was like “Man, I have to be enjoying this every second of everyday and if I’m not, what am I doing?” It sure seems like that is exactly what DeRosa is setting out to do.
