The Grammys Will Return to New York City in 2018
It’s official – the music industry’s premier award show will be returning to New York City for the first time in 15 years. After spending more than a decade in Los Angeles, the 60th anniversary Grammy Awards will be held on January 28, 2018 at Madison Square Garden.
For years, the Grammys rotated between Los Angeles and New York City before settling in LA in 2004. The effort to bring the awards show back to NYC has been a long process that’s taken over three years to successfully achieve. According to the New York mayor’s office, the Grammys are estimated to bring $200 million in economic benefit to the city.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement earlier today, “We welcome the Grammy Awards back to New York City with open arms and we look forward to continuing to partner with the music industry that supports access and empowerment in the arts.”
