Taylor Swift Back On Spotify
It finally happened! According to a statement from the taylornation13 Twitter account, Taylor Swift’s entire discography is returning to streaming services: “In celebration of 1989 selling over 10 Million Albums Worldwide and the RIAA’s 100 Million Song Certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight.” This includes, Spotify, Pandora, Tidal, Amazon, and others.
As we all remember in 2014, Taylor removed her music from all streaming services (aside from Apple Music) due to unpaid royalties. In an interview with Time, she argued, “I think there should be an inherent value placed on art. I didn’t see that happening, perception-wise, when I put my music on Spotify.” She felt the streaming service didn’t value her music – but it appears she’s changed her mind. And we’re very happy she did!
Congrats to Taylor for this incredible achievement (and thanks for allowing us to play “All Too Well” on repeat for the rest of our lives)!
