#ROTW: The Maine’s “Black & White”

To kick off our new Record Of The Week playlist series, staff member Delaney DeAngelis dives into The Maine’s sophomore record:

One of the most underrated albums from The Maine is their second full-length release, Black & White. The band is not short of amazing albums, but Black & White deserves to be recognized. Released in 2010 this album is the transition from The Maine’s pop-filled debut, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop, to their rock anthems today. The most known songs from the album are “Right Girl” and “inside of You,” but the album is full of great songs. “Growing Up” is a classic coming-of-age song fit for a high school graduation, and “Every Road” is perfect for a summer road trip. “Color” is a classic The Maine song, filled with lyrics pondering life and what the future will be like. Sure, the lyrics on this album might not be as mature and profound as they are now, but it’s a fun album to add to your playlists. The Maine don’t play many songs from Black & White anymore, but it certainly deserves to be recognized as a great album from an incredible band.”
