If you haven’t heard of Alessia Cara yet, you probably haven’t touched the internet or radio in months. 19 year old Canada singer-songwriter Alessia Cara is blowing up the Top 40 List. With her 2015 release, “Know-It-All”, Cara provides girl power anthems advocating for confidence and self- love. Cara’s message that makes her loved by her fans is her attitude against the conformity of high school and expectations of social lives, in one of her most popular songs, “Here”, she shows how fed up she is with the routine of parties and how she would much rather be somewhere else, actually enjoying herself. In the media and especially in music there is a tendency to act according to what is popular or seen as “cool”,  in order to gain popularity but Alessia Cara throws that notion away, does her own thing, and is loved for it. If you haven’t checked her out yet, you’ll definitely want to, expect Alessia Cara to become a widely known name in 2016.
