Artist of the Week: She Is We Exclusive Playlist

Next on She Is We’s Artist of the Week, Rachel created a playlist of all of her “Gettin’ It” songs! Read her explanation below and listen to the playlist too! Read her exclusive Q&A from Monday here

“Hard in the Paint” – Wakka Flocka Flame

This song just gets me rowdy and ignorant. Don’t mind my dancing.

“Diva” – Beyoncé

“Diva is the female version of a hustler” has always stuck to my life’s mantra. Life won’t be easy, so I’ve got to hustle and keep my dignity intact.

“Make Up” – R. City

The hook is just so good and I have no idea what the dude is saying, but I like it.

“Take It To The Head” – DJ Khaled

This is one of my favorite productions. It gets me stoked to work out or spar with a bag.

“Gangsta” – Kat Dahlia

Kat has one of the most gorgeous voices I’ve ever heard. Her storytelling of showing what a true “gangsta” has to do is SO moving. *goosebumps*

“Fineshrine” – Purity Ring

I would say I love the lyrics, but I honestly have no clue what is being talked about. But the production makes brushing my teeth in the morning much more exciting.

“Maad City” – Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick is bringing back that 90’s hip hop message that brought awareness regarding the lifestyle that is a means to survive. I respect how raw his lyrics are.

“Pillowtalk” – Zayn

Just being real, this song is how babies are made. Hallelujah!

“Did It On Em” -Nicki Minaj

Nicki has a way of projecting an extreme alpha female presence on her tracks, but this one gets me ready to perform on stage.
