EP Review: DREAMERS’ LAUNCH

New York alt-rockers, DREAMERS dropped their latest EP, LAUNCH today. Somehow over just for songs, they manage to showcase everything that they are capable of. With smart lyrics, hard-hitting rock beats and hooks it’s a great collection of rock, pop, alternative and indie influences. This blend of genres really indicates that the group could excel in any of these areas with ease.

The EP opens with “SCREWS” a track with that beat that we know and love in pop rock music plus high-energy vocals exclaiming that their “brain has lost its screws” which offers a unique tale that is somehow just so relatable. The chorus is made for a live performance. With an easy to learn melody it’s definitely going to be a crowd pleaser.

Up next is “Fake It Til You Make It” a life motto for some, and DREAMERS clearly sees it the same way. Another catchy tune that talks of an ignorance is bliss lifestyle. In this track you really feel the pop influences compared to the other tracks on the EP. It is reminiscent of  bands like The Maine and All-American Rejects.

After, we see a more stripped side of the band with “Black & White” which starts off slow and then the chorus gradually moves to more of what we have heard from them before; loud and infectious lyrics with the beat to back it up perfectly. It’s a very up and down track melodically, and it works. It flows very well and you can feel the build up that gets you excited for the chorus each time.

Lastly, the EP closes with “Karma” a track that draws you in from the first note. Definitely the most rock-influenced track it is high energy and another song that you can tell will be great live. It’s evident that DREAMERS really thinks about the live show in their songwriting, which is something fans and new listeners alike can appreciate.

Overall, this is a great EP and a great next step for DREAMERS. They show off their genre-crossing talents and illustrate that they can put on a great live show just through the studio version of these tracks. Here’s to hoping they go on tour soon so we can see all four of these tracks live for real!
