LANY + Julia Michaels Release Music Video for “okay”
Earlier this spring, LANY and Julia Michaels released their summery break-up smash “okay” with fans, and now the dynamic team has shared the music video for the song. “okay” tells the story of that feeling everyone knows all too well after going through a hard time, the feeling of asking yourself if you’re going to be okay. In the hook of the song, lead singer Paul Klein and Michaels sing “I’m gonna be okay, right?”, which is a question we all ask ourselves at one point or another.
The video itself was shot earlier this year in Los Angeles and was shot entirely on film. In a newsletter to LANY fans, Klein said that the video was inspired by the movie Mighty Ducks 2. He also talked about how he had always wanted to incorporate rollerblading into one of the bands videos, which is another thing he as able to accomplish with “okay”. The video has a nostalgic quality to it, that matches the song’s tone and message perfectly.
