Lauv releases new song and video for “Superhero”

Late last night, pop producer and singer Lauv released his new single called “Superhero” along with a music video for the song. On his world tour earlier this year, Lauv worked on a project called “My Blue Thoughts”, which allowed fans to anonymously share notes about the painful or sad thoughts or experiences that they carried with them. It started as a way for fans to let go of the weight, but one note that read “I had a superhero. I lost her. I want her back.” triggered a song idea in Lauv’s head. “Superhero” is a fantastic step in the right direction for Lauv – it’s unlike any of his other songs and opens up an exciting new chapter for his music.

The music video for the song shares the journey that he went on to find the person who wrote the note. It shows two people dancing, portraying the relationship that the note was based on, but subtitles appear at the bottom of the video, telling the story of the note. It’s a beautifully simple way of portraying the love and loss of the relationship.
