2020 GRAMMYs Recap: Billie Eilish Takes Over

The 62nd Annual Grammy Music Awards took place last night and it was a sure night of beautiful performances and well-deserved wins. Although it was a somber night as everyone was feeling the pain of  the news basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, as well as four others passed away in helicopter crash earlier that morning, host Alicia Keys tried to uplift the shows spirits as much as possible.

Artists from the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish were all nominated and dressed to impress with their best looks. Even comedy legends such as Ellen Degenerous, Trevor Noah, and Dave Chapelle were nominated for Best Comedy Album.

Performances

The empowering Lizzo opened up the show with an amazing performance and dedicating the night to Kobe Bryant. The Jonas Brothers also took to the stage with a performance of their newest single “What A Man Gotta Do” as well as giving everyone a sneak peak of their upcoming single “5 Minutes.” Tyler, The Creator also took the stage with the iconic Boyz II Men as well as Usher paying tribute to Prince. 

Camila Cabello brought everyone to tears with her beautiful performance of “First Man” dedicated to her dad in the audience. Ariana Grande ended her Sweetener and Thank U, Next era with an amazing medley performance of  “Imagine” and “7 Rings.” Demi Lovato made her comeback with a powerful, emotional performance. Billie Eilish made her Grammy debut alongside her brother Finneas with a beautiful rendition of “When The Party’s Over.” More performances included Lil Nas X,  Rosalia, Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stafani, as well as a tribute to Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich.
