The 1975 Makes Difficult Decision – Calls Off 2021 Tour Due to Pandemic

As the pandemic continues to take society into its clutches, The 1975 takes caution and decides to make the difficult decision to call off the remainder of their 2021 international tour, spanning over two months. The group planned to go on tour with their 2020 album Notes On A Conditional Form. After many pushbacks, the album was released on May 22nd through Dirty Hit and Polydor Records, coming in as a  follow up to their 2018 album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. The original 2020 tour spanned for over two months, beginning in February. Other artists such as Charlie XCX, Clairo, Pale Waves, Phoebe Bridgers, and more were set to perform alongside the 1975. Although these performances never came to center stage, The 1975 on May 7th successfully launched a virtual tribute concert aided by the help of these fellow indie artists. The concert provided the opportunity for the invited artists to perform covers of the band while giving Matty Healy the platform to speak on the new album.  It also touched on the band’s original collaboration with Reverb. Together, a collaboration was taken in making an effort toward environmental sustainability and allowing the 1975 to reduce their carbon footprint, while publicly promoting the positive impacts for people and the planet.

  7. February 22-Düsseldorf, Germany-
    Mitsubishi Electric HALLE
  8. February 23-Frankfurt, Germany-Jahrhunderthalle
  9. February 24-Munich, Germany-
    Zenith, Die Kulturhalle
  10. February 26-Milan, Italy-Fabrique
  11. February 27-Dubendorf, Switzerland-Samsung Hall Zürich
  12. March 1-Amsterdam, Netherlands-AFAS Live

While this is a hard announcement, the band does state that “we’re currently making new music and look forward to seeing you all soon.” Additionally, The 1975 has kept their  2021 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival date.
