Me Like Bees “There Will Be Time” Review
After winning the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, indie rock band Me Like Bees won the chance to work with producer John Feldmann for their EP, There Will Be Time, set to release April 8. Feldmann is an award-winning producer who has worked with artists like 5 Seconds of Summer and Panic! at the Disco.
There Will Be Time is a four song EP, each song distinctive from the rest. Me Like Bees previously released a self-titled EP in 2011 and a full-length album, The Ides, in 2013. Regardless, There Will Be Time is a great introduction to the band and a look into what is to come from the band in the future.
There Will Be Time begins with “Changes,” blending indie-rock instrumentals with the catchy lyrics of pop. The next song may be titled “Tundraland,” but it’s a song fit for a summer playlist. The third song, “There Will Be Time” is much different than the previous two. The acoustic based song is much more indie than the other songs, and resembles an early Never Shout Never song. The EP finishes with “Hymns and Blues,” is another catchy song, similar to the opening track “Changes,” bringing the EP full circle.
There Will Be Time is full of catchy lyrics and melodies, with a positive theme throughout. The album as whole is the perfect edition to a summer indie-rock playlist. Fans of Never Shout Never, Grizfolk and the like will enjoy this EP. There Will Be Time will be available on April 8.
