Miley Cyrus hosted her own pride special on June 25th called ‘Stand by You’ which is now streaming on Peacock. The event was filmed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and featured multiple country artists as well, such as Maren Morris and Orville Peck. This event comes after Cyrus made a deal with NBCUniversal Television and streaming, where this was first occasion on the streaming platform.
“Howdy Nashville,” Cyrus said at the start of the special, with fans cheering throughout the auditorium. “Thank you so much for filling the Ryman up with all of this love and support in honor of Pride Month. I’m just happy to have everybody here under one roof. Everybody is welcome here.”
Cyrus performed herself and even sang some of our favorite songs by her, such as “Party in the U.S.A.” and “The Climb”. The event was intended to celebrate all LGBTQ+ members and be an entertaining and inclusive event for everybody.
The trailer for the event showed Cyrus in all of her glory, including all of her various outfit changes of the evening. One of these dazzling outfits showed the singer in a shimmering black ball gown. She was also seen rocking a crystal-studded bodysuit and a beaded bra and skirt combo with flamboyant black feathers for her Cher cover.
Cyrus said in a post on her Instagram announcing the event, “I’ve got a lot of guests. A lot of #Pride. AND A LOT OF WARDROBE CHANGES. Don’t miss my #MileyPrideSpecial June 25th @peacocktv 🦚🌈 Coming to your home from my hometown Nashville, TN! We brought ALOT of LOVE into the legendary @theryman – See you there! #StandByYou”
The hour-long event showed Cyrus singing her own version of classics we love, such as “Believe” and “True Colors.” Maren Morris and Cyrus offered their own rendition of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” which did not disappoint and was one of the fan favorites for the evening.
Cyrus has always stood with the LGBTQ+ community and is not afraid to show her support whenever she can. Her fans, also known as Smilers, are all aware that Cyrus openly identifies as pansexual. She has also discussed her sexual fluidity on multiple occasions, making her the perfect candidate to host the exhilarating event that took place last week.
