Unfortunately in a recent interview with ET Canada, it was revealed that Avril Lavigne’s forthcoming fifth album is set for a release “sometime in September”. This past Thursday, the Canadian super star took to the Viper Room in Los Angeles to perform a showcase of her hits, both old and new alike. Among the new was her latest single, “Here’s To Never Growing Up”, but there was also a track called “17”. In the video of the performance, Lavigne introduces the tune: “I’ve chosen to play the song ’17’ for you guys tonight. So just listen really carefully, because you haven’t heard it anywhere yet.” She added: “I wrote this song about – duh! – being seventeen, so that’s pretty much it. I hope I remember all the words.”
