OneRepublic Shares “Better Days”

Amidst the chaos that is COVID-19, there’s a little hope and sunshine. Today, OneRepublic shared “Better Days,” a track that is inspired by real world events that continue to change every day.

This week has seen Shelter in Place and “lockdowns” around the world, with most music fans home morning, noon and night. While this has completely changed the music industry, the highlight has been musicians, artists and industry members haven taken to Instagram Live to share their new music, chat with fans and mutually share how they’re coping with changes to their daily routines.

OneRepublic members Brent Kutzle and Ryan Tedder, along with producer Tyler Spry, have experienced these changes personally while finishing up the band’s upcoming album Human. Ultimately, Kutzle, Tedder and Spry have live streamed nightly sharing everything from album listen throughs, Tedder’s Quarantine Cuisine and Spry giving fans a sneak preview of what’s to come.

After feeling the effects of COVID-19 personally, they shared how the track came together.

Along with the new single, OneRepublic took to Instagram asking their fans to participate in an initiative to create the accompanying music video. Utilizing the app, Cinebody,  the band called for submissions from fans.

In an Instagram post, the band shared:

“Here’s how it works. ​​We want you to share your videos of you at home, sharing acts of kindness, we want to hear from first responders, survivors, volunteers, how you are keeping healthy, what you are cooking, how you are virtually staying connected with your friends and family, how you and your pets are keeping each other company, and safely sending footage of your neighborhood or city and how’s it’s changed, and anything else that creatively expresses what you are doing while staying safe and staying home!”
