Fresh out the studio and cruising on their growing success and popularity, the indie pop band joan set out on their first ever headline tour across the U.S. Just like every stop so far on this tour, joan’s first headline show in Portland was something special.

With only a small collection of released songs, joan has been quickly building up a fan base of their own and making their way onto every indie pop-curated playlist. After being the support act on tour for some time, it’s incredible to see people come out to their own shows and fill the room.

The crowd was lively and fully engaged from the start. Naturally, as the lights dimmed and the duo stepped on stage, the audience cheered with excitement. They got even louder, however, as joan began their first song and the opening notes to the fan favorite “drive all night” was heard.

Fans danced and sang all night as joan powered through their catalog of singles. This tour has been extra special, as each stop has been treated with a first listen to six unreleased tracks the duo finished up recording prior to tour. The tracks stay true to the signature sound joan has become associated with while continuing to explore and experiment with ‘80s–early 2000’s pop sounds.

With their first headline tour coming to a close and new music on it’s way, it’s an exciting time to be a joan fan as the duo continues to grow.
