It was hard to tell who was more excited during the San Francisco MUNA show; the crowd, or the band themselves. The energy in the room was intoxicating as MUNA powered through their setlist.

MUNA self describes themselves as the “Greatest Band in the World,” and they prove every time they stop onto a stage why they are worthy of that title. From start to finish the crowd was loud and jumping, and the band was all smiles while performing and running around the stage. It was clear they were having the time of their lives being surrounded by their fans, and wouldn’t want it any other way.

MUNA started their set with “What I Want,” the perfect queer anthem song that hyped up the crowd and immediately got the party going. About half of their set was songs off their latest self titled album, with the remainder being well balanced with fan favorites from their first two albums. San Francisco fans got a special treat and to hear a new song early, as their latest song “One That Got Away” was performed a few days ahead of release.

Their final song of the night was MUNA’s most popular song, “Silk Chiffon.” It was the perfect way to end the night, and had everyone in the room singing “life’s so fun, life’s so fun” as an incredible show wrapped up.
