After rescheduling their tour three times due to Covid and the pandemic, Purity Ring finally brought their show to Oakland’s Fox Theater. Describing the crowd as eager would be an understatement, with many fans holding onto their tickets since the tour was first announced. The second Purity Ring took the stage, they were greeted to a roaring crowd.

Though various health mandates have been required and removed, Purity Ring requested masks be a requirement for the night’s show. Before they took the stage, Purity Ring’s Megan James took to the intercom for a friendly mask reminder. Reiterating the rescheduling of the tour, and for the health and safety of all in attendance and their team, masks are required to be worn through the night. To the group’s delight, the crowd obeyed to ensure this tour was kept on track and held in each scheduled city.

The duo was separated by a translucent screen, with Corin Roddick surrounded by lights while James took the front of the stage to give a high energy performance. Lights and smoke danced across the stage in unison with James, and various psychedelic imagery was projected on the screen behind her. All of these elements added depth to the stage, resulting in an awe-striking visual.

Purity Ring is an impressive electro pop act, with an even more impressive discography behind them. Each album striving to evolve and create something bigger than the last. Purity Ring’s live show is a must see that will blow away anyone in the audience.
