Purity Ring brought their “Place of My Own” tour to San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre, delivering a dreamlike, immersive show that balanced the duo’s classic synth-pop style with the conceptual depth of their new self-titled album.

The set opened with a swirl of shimmering visuals, fog, and pulsing lights that matched the album’s RPG-inspired themes of healing and rebuilding. Megan James’ ethereal vocals floated above Corin Roddick’s hard-hitting beats, creating an emotional push-and-pull that defined the night. Standouts from the new album, like “Memory Ruins” and “Place of My Own,” felt cinematic live. The crowd roared as the setlist reached older favorites like “Fineshrine” and “Obedear.”

This tour marks a conceptual evolution for Purity Ring complete with forward-thinking storytelling. It’s a carefully crafted experience meant to be felt as much as heard—less a greatest hits show and more a journey through a new world they’ve created.

Fans of their earlier work will find plenty to enjoy, but it’s the new material, and the vision behind it, that makes this tour worth seeing.
