The rising artist and Spotify sensation Souly Had brought his B.L.I.S.S. tour to Portland, and Portland in return brought the energy and love for the artist.

The moment Souly Had stepped onstage, the Portland crowd set in the intimate space of downtown’s Star Theater erupted. To even the surprise of the artist, the crowd was fully engaged for every minute of the set. Each member moving along, reaching out toward Souly Had, and singing along to every word. Having just released his latest track, “Sunlight,” a few days prior, Souly Had thought he’d test his audience’s knowledge of his lyrics. Of course, Portland aced his test and continued to echo back every word during the performance.

Though his released catalog is still relatively small, it’s no surprise why Souly Had has managed to gather the growing and devoted following he has. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Chance the Rapper, Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith and Tyler the Creator, his sound is a pop/rap/R&B blend that appeals to today’s young followers and listeners of self-starting hip-hop artists and like-minded creatives.

With a fast growing fanbase backing him so early on, it’s clear we will see a lot more from Souly Had as he continues to expand his catalog and make the hip-hop industry aware of his presence.
