“Real” vibes found in Juan Wauters and Mac DeMarco new music video

Coming in fast and furious, Juan Wauters gets “Real ” in his new music video featuring Mac Demarco.

Released on Feburary 3rd, Juan Wauters produces the single “Real,” alongside Mac DeMarco.   The song comes as a precursor to Wauters’s upcoming album Real Life Situations which is set to release on April 30th.

Riding bikes through LA, and honing in on the title of the song, the pair both lyrically and visually make the point of what life truly is. Why some of the visuals may come off as peculiar, they truly emphasize Wauters point of reality.

Since meeting through the record label Captured Tracks back in 2013 the duo have recorded numerous songs together, and have had the ability to form a friendship that is deeply rooted in the comfort found within the expression. “Real” not only is a testimony to Wauters reality but is a showcase to the idea of friendship and how it has the ability to form a safe space.

Real-Life Situations follows Wauters’s 2019 albums, La Onda de Juan Pablo and  Introducing Juan Pablo. Both albums effortlessly fuse the ideas of sound and space by intertwining the concepts of self-discovery to the strength of community.  Starting with  La Onda de Juan Pablo, then pouring into Introducing Juan Pablo,  Wauters forms two albums that speak to his idea of the self, and gradually tells a story of how his own community has shaped him, and what that transformation has done to his artistic style.

La Onda de Juan Pablo is the first time we are allowed to have an insider look into Wauters life. Through storytelling, and inspiration from the locations where  La Onda de Juan Pablo was recorded, we are able to understand who Wauters is, and through Introducing Juan Pablo an understanding begins to turn into a bond. Transforming into a fusion of Spanish and English songs, Wauters walks us through his New York, Uruguayan lifestyle and a  trust,  built through his previous works, is now solidified.

As for Real Life Situations, the album will be a reflection of the past year. Stacked with collaborators including Air Waves, Cola Boyy, El David Aguilar, Homeshake, and Tall Juan, Real Life Situations is set to dive deep into Wauters’s utter truth.
