Vampire Weekend Shares “Sunflower” Music Video Featuring Steve Lacy
Earlier this week, indie-rock stars Vampire Weekend shared the music video for their new song “Sunflower”. The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Father Of The Bride, which is set to be released on May 3rd.
“Sunflower” features guitarist and producer Steve Lacy, along with some other iconic cameos. Actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld also makes an appearance in the music video, which is fun for fans because the television show Seinfeld has been a huge part of the band’s identity and their relationship with their fans over the years. The video was directed by actor Jonah Hill, and he expertly captured the the funky vibe of the song through the concept and editing in the video. Set in two New York City institutions, Zabar’s and Barney Greengrass, “Sunflower” is a perfect representation of this new era of Vampire Weekend’s music.
