From singing his soul out on the Jingle Ball tour to playing golf in some of the biggest tournaments in the world, Niall Horan has had an incredibly busy year. Horan released two tracks, both with their own vibe and feel. Most importantly, Horan began his solo career, grabbing the attention of everyone in the music industry.
In honor of his 24th birthday, we’re counting our favorite 5 music moments from Niall Horan.
5. This Town (Live) – 1 Mic – 1 Take
We admit, this song took over our lives for more than just a few months. Horan’s debut solo single was one of the most successful in pop music. With more than 41 million views, Horan’s (1 mic – 1 take) version of “This Town” had us not only on the ground crying, but singing our hearts out constantly.
4. Niall Horan Cover’s Julia Michaels’ “Issues” in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
Horan’s voice soared as he sang Michaels’ original lyrics, creating a soulful, emotional song for his fans to listen to again, we admit, constantly. The cover of “Issues” has almost two million views on YouTube alone and we’re sure if this was released as a single, it would hit number 1 instantly.
3. “Slow Hands (acoustic)”
(Let’s just take a second for Niall Horan in a black t-shirt. Yes, we’re happy about this.)
Horan’s “Slow Hands” was possibly one of the best songs of the summer and continues to impact on radio stations around the world. Horan performed the song hundreds of times, but acoustically in a small studio, is one of our favorites. Horan looks like he’s absolutely in his element, enjoying every part of the performance.
2. His. New. Song. “Mirrors”
With no true studio version, Horan has been introducing new songs on each day of his “Flicker Sessions” solo tour. During the Dublin date, Horan performed “Mirrors” a, hopefully, upcoming single off of Horan’s debut album release. “Mirrors” is fun, catchy, and a song that you’ll most likely find the entire world population dancing to later this year.
1. Horan Performs “Slow Hands” at One Love Manchester
An emotional day for all, Niall Horan performed “Slow Hands” at Ariana Grandes’ OneLove Manchester event after the devastating attack earlier this year. Horan looked comfortable on the stage, growing in the sound as he continued to perform. The audience sang along, dancing to the single. His smile appeared several times, making it our favorite performance of the year.
