Drugdealer’s Sedona Announces Debut Solo Album, Shares New Song: Listen

Sedona, the Los Angeles-based songwriter and lead singer of indie rock band Drugdealer, has announced her first ever solo album. Getting Into Heaven will be released May 23. Today, Sedona has shared the project’s first single, “Best Kept Secret.” Watch the new song’s official video below.

“Music has always been the world’s most honest mirror – revealing us to ourselves,” Sedona said in a release. “Today, songs often feel rushed, much like our way of living. We’re constantly scrolling and moving without actually connecting. I’m trying to slow down and hang out for a while. I wanna drink a strawberry milkshake on a friend’s porch and listen to the radio…to sit down and stay a while. We should practice speaking from the heart. That’s what ‘Best Kept Secret’ is all about – those small, freeing moments, like washing someone-you-love’s face in the morning sun.”

Sedona will play a headline show at The Echo in Los Angeles this Thursday, January 23. Proceeds from the show will be donated to organizations offering aid to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Sedona will offer those donations to LA Street Care and Pasadena Humane Society. Find tickets for the show here.

Sedona co-wrote “Best Kept Secret” with Jeremy Freedman from the band The Neighbourhood. She’s previously collaborated with Hemlocke Springs, Ginger Root, Barrie, Caroline Polachek, and TOPS.
