The National’s Matt Berninger Announces Album, Shares New Song: Listen

 

Matt Berninger, The National’s singer and primary lyricist, has announced his second solo album: Get Sunk is scheduled out May 30 on Concord Records. The follow up to 2021’s Serpentine Prison will feature ten songs, including a new single out today. Listen to “Bonnet Of Pins,” plus see Berninger’s tour itinerary, below.

Get Sunk was produced with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Sean O’Brien who co-wrote many of the songs. Berninger was also assisted by numerous musicians and friends including Meg Duffy of Hand Habits, The National bandmate Kyle Resnick, Booker T. Jones and members of The Walkmen. Most of the record was recorded in a Silverlake, California basement studio. Pre-order a copy of Get Sunk here.
