Fontaines D.C. have released a deluxe edition of their critically acclaimed 2024 album Romance. The expanded release includes a brand new song called “Before You I Just Forget” that comes with a lyric video, which can be viewed below. The song is a b-side to another recent Fontaines’ single called “It’s Amazing To Be Young. Romance (Deluxe Edition) also includes a live version of “Starburster / In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song).” Stream Romance (Deluxe Edition) here.

“‘Before You I Just Forget’ is a song that started with a vision of this really blown out sound, something that heaved and shifted with new details becoming apparent every time you would listen,” explained Fontaines D.C. drummer Conor Curley. “Like never being able to step in the same river twice, the song morphs and changes finishing with an incredible string part by Grian.

“I’ll cherish the song forever because of the memories of finishing it with the lads and James Ford,” Curley continued.

Producer James Ford, who worked on Romance and a number of other historically significant rock records, recently revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer. Romance is one of the last works Ford contributed to before pausing all ongoing productions to focus on his health.
