The Beths Announce New Album ‘Straight Line Was A Lie,’ Share Video for New Song: Watch
The Beths have announced their latest album; Straight Line Was A Lie is out August 29 via ANTI-. Today, the New Zealand band revealed the cover art for their new LP, plus shared a music video for their latest single “No Joy.” Watch it below.
The band’s fourth album, and first since 2022’s Expert in a Dying Field, focuses on showing up to get through difficult life circumstances.
“Linear progression is an illusion,” singer Liz Stokes said. “What life really is is maintenance. But you can find meaning in the maintenance.”
The band previously shared the single “Metal” which had similar themes. That song, like many on this record, was written by Stokes following an intense period of touring, mental health struggles and multiple health-related diagnoses. Pre-order a copy of Straight Line Was A Lie here.
When The Beths share their new album, they will go on tour. Performances start in Dublin, Ireland on September 19 and end with a show in Washington, D.C. on December 9. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. A full list of The Beths’ tour dates, cities and venues can be found below.
