With a vibrant soulful funky sound, David Davis is the artist that will get a party going.
Davis already has so many accomplishments under him from working with legendary producers RedOne (Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj) and Aaron Sprinkle (One Republic), playing over 700 shows in his 3 and a half year career so far including being a opening act for Jon Bellion, headlining a 73-show residency in Dubai, and most recently being a star pick for renowned actor, singer and songwriter Ben Platt on NBC’s show Songland.
David appeared on the second season of Songland performing an original song, “Everything It Took To Get To You” where he received an overwhelming adoration for his song from producers Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean, Shane McAnally and Ben Platt. In the end his single was selected by Platt to re-record on his own and released.
Davis, inspired by music from an early age by Motown classics and church choir, studied music at Belmont University where his passion for music only heightened.
The rising R&B/Soul artist dropped his newest single “Golden” earlier this month gaining inspiration from his time in Dubai and learning that the most exciting materialistic things in life can not compare to the value of being loved.
As a queer, black musician in today’s world Davis thought it was important to also reflect on the heinous crimes happening to black men and women in America and chose to donate $1 for each pre-save to a GoFundMe for Elijah McClain in support of the Black Loves Matter Movement.
McClain was a 23-year-old black man who died after Colorado police restrained him with a chokehold while he was walking home from a convenience store in August of last year. Davis was proudly able to donate $100 to the cause.
While continuing to social distance in LA, Davis is working on new music and is waiting for the day he can perform again.
