Selling over 6 million copies in the US alone since it’s release in 2004, Green Day’s seventh studio album, American Idiot, remains one of the most iconic punk album to date. Resulting in the band’s first Grammy and an award-winning Broadway production, it served as inspiration for many of today’s musicians. Few bands since have been as vocal on their political views, but Green Day spawned a revolution of socially-conscious young adults. With infamous singles such as “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Holiday” still being played on modern pop/rock radio, there’s no doubt that Green Day have left their impact on the punk music world.
