Genre-Bending jame minogue Unleashes Cheeky New Music Video for Latin-Infused Track “You’re Thinking of Me”

LA-based Dominican-Irish artist, jame minogue, releases a warm invitation into his vibrant world with a music video for lead track, “You’re Thinking of Me.” Infused with Latin-inspired pop and wavy funk, this song creates the perfect mood for a saucy summer. The music video was released on June 17, 2022 as a follow-up to minogue’s sophomore EP, Príncipe Azul, released on June 10, 2022.

Upon first listen of “You’re Thinking of Me,” we can feel minogue’s voice and confidence flow through us as easily as he switches between Spanish and English. After we’ve had it on repeat, the energy remains the same and we can’t help but fall into the trance that minogue, himself, set up.  Produced by Omar Tavarez (Pitbull), Mark Pelli (MAGIC!) and minogue, “You’re Thinking of Me” embraces tongue-in-cheek lyricism and a melody that we can’t stop swaying our bodies to.

The music video, directed by Camila Noriega, presents vintage-inspired visuals embolden by childhood crushes on television celebrities. The narrative of the video follows a young couple where the disengaged girlfriend becomes entranced with the serenading artist (minogue) on the TV that seems to only speak to her feelings. After constant stills where minogue outshines her ordinary relationship, she lets herself go for her own desires. Watch the full official video for “You’re Thinking of Me” below.

A global pop-star in the making, jame minogue presents a fresh take on Latin-inspired pop by combining genres like funk and R&B creating a new genre in itself. With his ability to show courage by writing about his true romantic feelings, minogue presents vulnerability and gets listeners to fall in love with him, knowingly or not.

What’s next for jame minogue? Well with a recent cover feature from Latin-focused media brand, Remezcla, and a cover on NPR World Cafe’s Best New Latinx playlist, minogue is definitely heading in the right direction as he will be opening for The Marías in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on August 26th, 2022.
