In the song, Saxe and Michaels toy with the idea of who would be with you at the end of the world. There’s a beautiful sense of longing and love in the song, especially as the hook kicks in and Saxe and Michaels angelically sing, almost begging “If the world was ending / You’d come over right? / You’d come over and you’d stay the night / Would you love me for the hell of it? All our fears would be irrelevant.” The song was produced by FINNEAS (Billie Eilish’s older brother and long-time collaborator), who handled the song’s delicate phrasing and melodies perfectly.
