mei ehara Shares Single “Fuukeiga (Cut Out)” and Announces New U.S. Tour Dates
Multidisciplinary Tokyo-based artist mei ehara has shared a new single titled “Fuukeiga (Cut Out)” from her forthcoming album All About McGuffin. The new record arrives on September 12. Keep reading to listen to her latest track.
“Fuukeiga (Cut Out)” is a loungey and electrified song with bending guitars that feel perfectly slated for endless on-repeat nighttime listens. Regarding this latest single, ehara believes it is a solid representation of what her new record will sound like to listeners.
“We are always seen through the eyes of others—defined, judged, expected, sometimes dismissed,” ehara said. “That gaze can weigh heavily, making us falter, hesitate, and turn questions inward. Yet the influence of others is not only a burden. It can open paths we wouldn’t discover on our own, shaping the choices that carry us forward. Each step we take, in the rhythm of these connections, carries both unease and anticipation. The future stays opaque, but moving toward it brings its own kind of charge — a tension, an exhilaration, like placing a quiet bet on what comes next.”
To support All About McGuffin, her third studio album, ehara will embark on her first United States headline tour. These shows include performances in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago. Today, ehara unveiled that she will also support Korean rock band Se So Neon on their upcoming U.S. tour. In July, ehara released another song called “Kanashii Untenshu (Sad Driver),” which will also appear on the new LP. Pre-order and pre-save copies of All About McGuffin at this link.
