The contrast between the two artists might be exactly what made this tour one of the most exciting of Spring 2019. The Wait For You Tour combines the smooth and seductive songs of Logan Henderson with the upbeat and high energy performance of Jake Miller.
First on stage was Logan Henderson, known by many from his time in Big Time Rush but has made a name for himself with his debut release of Echoes of Departure and the Endless Street of Dreams – Pt. 1. Logan came on stage, explaining he’d be leaving the dancing to Jake Miller, and performed a set full of his own slow jams and covers – showing off his vocal range. Logan requested the lights to be dimmed for an acoustic performance of Dua Lipa’s “One Kiss,” and continued with the mood treating the crowd to an acoustic performance of his breakout single “Sleepwalker.” Logan told the audience this was the only time all tour he’d performed the song this way, commenting that the Portland crowd was special.
Between sets songs from 90’s artists like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC were played to get the crowd in a singing and dancing mood. Once Jake Miller stepped onto the stage, the entire venue roared with excitement and energy. The tour was a celebration of Miller’s newest EP, but as he said he made sure to still perform old tracks for his OG fans. Every member of the audience knew every word to the song, new and old. Jake Miller showed comfort and expertise onstage, as he guided the energy and movement of the crowd. The audience followed Miller’s guidance when he requested they get low, jump and give the song everything they had. The crowd erupted with excitement every time Miller cracked open a water bottle and threw water into the audience. The intimate Portland venue looked like a nightclub with Jake Miller onstage.
