Wednesday Share First New Song in 2 Years “Elderberry Wine”: Listen

It’s a very Wednesday kind of Wednesday, as the rock band Wednesday, led by Karly Hartzman and her band of Asheville, North Carolina all-stars have revealed a new single. “Elderberry Wine” is out now, and comes with a music video. The song is Wednesday’s first release since their critically acclaimed album Rat Saw God made its way into rock fan’s hearts in 2023. Watch the video and hear the song below.

“‘Elderberry Wine’ is about the potential for sweet things in life (love, family, success) to become poison if not prepared for and attended to correctly,” Hartzman said. “Elderberry is known as a healing fruit, and is an ingredient in many tonics and syrups to aid the immune system. One time however, my sister consumed them raw and it immediately induced vomiting. So ‘Elderberry Wine’ is ultimately a love song about creating just the right environment for fulfillment. There’s a delicate balance that needs to be created, especially in love, for two lives to intersect without poisoning each other.”

Wednesday will perform the track and make their first ever television appearance tonight on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The show airs at 11:35pm ET/10:35pm CT on CBS.
