Beyond The Stage’s Best Music and Concert Photos of 2025

Us music aficionados at Beyond The Stage are really just superfans behind the lens. That’s to say, we like taking photos of our favorite artists. The majority of content our team shares with readers is music photojournalism at its finest (at least we think so). Sure, we make news posts, write feature stories and, of course, keep fans up to date with our popular New Music Friday column. But, what really brings our team together is photographing concerts across the world. We’re lucky to have a team based in many cities. It’s hard for a tour not to stop by our towns or a moment to not be captured by our cameras. This is all eventually passed onto our dear readers. To honor our awesome staff for their contributions to the music industry, plus the musicians we meet, here’s a compilation of the year 2025 in photos. Enjoy, and thank you to all the talented people who contribute to and visit our little musical slice of the internet. These are the best music and concert photos of 2025.

Pierce the Veil brought the heat to Blossom Music Center on a beautiful June night in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. From opening for The Used at this very venue, Blossom Music Center, about two years ago, to headlining and packing the place out now, Pierce the Veil made their mark in Blossom history.

For what can only be described as an “Eras Tour” for the band, fans old and young made sure to show up and support. Opening with the hit single, “Death of an Executioner”, was the greatest decision. The slow build-up in the start of the song into a massive guitar riff set the tone for the whole night. It was absolute chaos in the best of ways. If the new album was not your vibe, the band played songs from every single album, even their first. Songs like: “Yeah Boy and Doll Face”, “Wonderless” and “Disasterology” stand out to us as every one screamed at the top of their lungs as soon as the first note hit. It truly was a night filled of euphoria and nostalgia.

Tennis, the Denver-based indie‑pop duo of Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, announced in April 2025 that their seventh album, Face Down in the Garden, would serve as their final studio release. Issued through their own label, Mutually Detrimental, the album arrived on April 25 and was accompanied by the single “12 Blown Tires,” a reflective track born from a disastrous tour‑bus breakdown that saw a dozen tires shredded during their journeyIn their emotional announcement, Moore shared that after 15 years and six previous albums—including cult favorites like Pollen (2023) and Swimmer (2020)—the couple felt they’d “said everything we wanted to say” through Tennis and were ready to pursue new creative paths and rediscover life as a married couple outside the band.

Across 15 June shows alone, they’ve performed in iconic independent venues like New York City’s Rooftop at Pier 17, Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, and Emo’s in Austin.

Blondshell – Chicago, IL – 6/13/2025: Photos by Ben Pagani

Blondshell

Blondshell played to a sold out crowd at the legendary Metro in Chicago, Illinois on Friday the 13th. There were no scary feelings though–the indie rockstar is in the midst of a successful world tour supporting her latest album If You Asked For A Picture, which was released by Partisan Records this May. The buzz surrounding the record and the at-capacity crowd made for a fun evening. “You are a great sounding crowd,” Blondshell told her fans early on in the set. “Let’s keep singing.” The more than 1,100 attendees happily obliged.

Blondshell played it all. She opened her set with the poppy tune “23’s A Baby,” from If You Asked For A Picture, plus broke out her latest album’s lead single and anthemic rock banger “T&A.” Her acclaimed LP Blondshell was also a central focus throughout the show. Concertgoers sang along to that record’s hit songs “Olympus,” “Kiss City,” plus the show’s encore finale “Salad.” There were some nice surprises for fans too. Blondshell performed her take on Addison Rae’s hit pop song “Diet Pepsi.” “This is one of my favorite songs and it was written by a woman,” Blondshell proclaimed before playing her version.

Purity Ring brought their “Place of My Own” tour to San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre, delivering a dreamlike, immersive show that balanced the duo’s classic synth-pop style with the conceptual depth of their new self-titled album.

The set opened with a swirl of shimmering visuals, fog, and pulsing lights that matched their latest album’s RPG-inspired themes of healing and rebuilding. Megan James’ ethereal vocals floated above Corin Roddick’s hard-hitting beats, creating an emotional push-and-pull that defined the night. Standouts from the new album, like “Memory Ruins” and “Place of My Own,” felt cinematic live. The crowd roared as the setlist reached older favorites like “Fineshrine” and “Obedear.”

The tour was supported by Jake Minch, one of Grace’s friends who she invites on stage during her set to perform their song “Good Stuff” together. The energy was high in The Troubadour for the second to last night of her It’s So Fun Tour, Enger and the crowd feeding off of each other.

Indigo De Souza – Chicago, IL – 10/19/2025: Photos by Ari Belleth

The first night of Indigo De Souza’s Precipice tour took off October 19 at Thalia Hall in Chicago, Illinois. With support from friend and artist Mothé (often stylized mothemothemothe), Indigo took the stage to the cheering of the crowd. Touring in support of their fourth studio release, Precipice, an album which contains a combination of introspective and raw lyrics, paired with a smooth sonic indie rock sound to gently deliver the listener the full range of human emotion. From the slower titular “Precipice,” to faster and popular tracks like “Heartthrob,” and “Crush,” Indigo’s music seems to carry an openness and an honesty that enraptured the audience, even as they worked out the little bumps of the first night of tour.

In addition to playing the majority of Precipice, the setlist also featured other favorites like “You Can Be Mean,” “Smog,” as well as a joint performance of “Serious,” with Mothé. A collaboration Indigo said they were so excited for, that they accidentally announced the song early. There are certain albums that feel capable of changing trajectories, or shifting perception. Experiencing Precipice within the warm embrace of the somewhat intimate Thalia Hall certainly felt like one of those moments.
