New Music Friday – May 15, 2026

This New Music Friday is filled with some surprise drops. This week’s biggest records include an anticipated single from a crowd pleasing group and new LPs from other artists. Read on to view a complete list of new music out now.

The Best of New Music Friday:

The Avalanches – “Together”

There are few artists on planet Earth more creative and influential than The Avalanches, who made a surprise splash late this week with the release of a new single titled “Together” featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, Prentiss. The song is the first new release from the Australian electronic group in almost six years.

“Together” has caught fans of the band by surprise, with many hoping this is the start of a new wave of appearances and music from The Avalanches, now made up of members Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Andy Szekeres. The release is part of a campaign, which includes an image of Chater gaming, and an official animated video for “Together,” which sees some now largely defunct technology, an iPod and a floppy disk, hanging out together and waving their 3D animated appendages.

“As long as we’re together, Together, forever and ever and ever…” the lyrics ponder.

If that’s what fans want from The Avalanches, truly to be together, it’s worth keeping an eye on the band and their various movements right now. Something big might be around the corner.
